Mystery solved?
Fuzzle solved at least part of the mystery of the спасибо-shouting woman. Apparently this is common in Russia – if a performance is particularly good, someone will start slow-clapping and shout out something about how good it was. Other members of the audience will then take up the clapping and add their own praises. It’s…
Thursday: Day One in Brisbane
As I might have mentioned ;-), it was a very early start on Thursday to get to the airport for a 4 am check-in. As predicted, TopKat wasn’t able to come, so I was off on an adventure on my own. My bag was only 19.3 kg – I could have fitted another couple of…
Plays and Parcels
The letterbox has been a source of surprises lately. First there was a blast from the past – a note from ORNOT (who we haven’t heard from for at least a year) attached to a flyer for a play. A play that he’d written and directed! The note offered us complementary tickets, so of course…
Busy busy busy
I seem to have way too much of a social life at the moment – it was another week of being out almost every night. Tuesday was Chick Flicks night: Le fils de l’épicier (The Grocer’s Son) – a very French film (slow, philosophical, not much happening, but incredibly atmospheric). We saw it at the…
John Campbell features Bookcrossing
Bookcrossing was featured on John Campbell’s programme on TV3 last night – an Auckland bookcrosser (I think it was Innes – they didn’t give her screenname) has been releasing books in memory of Bronwyn Tate, a NZ author who died recently, and they had a segment on her wandering around Auckland releasing books. It should…

That’s a lovely picture of him. I’m glad I got to see him one last time recently (and see him enjoying Thai food!).

I know you will miss your furry friend….
Such a lovely cat. I am sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss
(((((hugs)))))
So sad to hear you have lost your beautiful boy. I had to go thru the same process with two of mine, both at 14 as well, one to diabetes, one to cancer. I’m grateful that my Dexter, at 14, is the picture of health despite being a little porkchop. I’m sure you have many sweet memories of Ming and it is nice that the roses will remind you of him. Take care.
