After a lovely evening with the early – arriving book crossers I’m now sitting in kiwiinengland’s hostel room with her and edwardstreet, where we’re all being terribly antisocial in a geeky bookcrosser sort of way sitting here with laptops and tablets registering books and making release notes and eating fudge and drinking wine. and I’m…
I like Timaru!
The-Organist had told there was going to be a charity booksale in Timaru yesterday, so of course lytteltonwitch and I had to have a wee expedition down there 🙂 We were a bit late getting away from Christchurch, after taking a detour to drop MrPloppy and a repaired computer off at a customer’s house, but…
I'm famous!
Well, I got my picture in the newspaper, anyway. We had a protest yesterday about the redundancies in the College of Arts, and I somehow ended up in the photo that got in the paper (I was trying my best to hide whenever I saw the photographer, but he was popping up all over the…
My first century
When I started this diary, part of the aim was to spread the Bookcrossing word a bit. And it looks like it’s working. One of the stats that is recorded on your Bookcrossing bookshelf, along with things like how many books you’ve registered and released, is your “tell-a-friend referrals” – the number of people (or…
A busy sort of day

I am so sorry for your loss
(((((hugs)))))
So sad to hear you have lost your beautiful boy. I had to go thru the same process with two of mine, both at 14 as well, one to diabetes, one to cancer. I’m grateful that my Dexter, at 14, is the picture of health despite being a little porkchop. I’m sure you have many sweet memories of Ming and it is nice that the roses will remind you of him. Take care.
