A curlew with tomatoes on its wing
Terrible lighting, sorry – I took the photo late last night after my second attempt at sewing the final seam (the first one I managed to misalign just enough to look terrible, so I had to unpick it (so many tiny tiny stitches!) and start again), and my attempt at colour correction of the artificial light hasn’t entirely succeeded. But you get the idea.
Love your bird and the fabrics you picked.
Thanks! I’m really enjoying this quilt-along – can’t wait to have all the birds finished so I can see the overall effect 🙂
Looking good!
Don’t forget to sew the papers together with really big stitches first. That way if you make a mistake, the stitches are really easy to unpick. It saves the sanity! Just don’t forget to sew over them with tiny stitches…
Yeah, I really need to learn that lesson – I keep thinking I can get away with it if it’s pinned well, and then it fails again and I end up spending ages unpicking yet another seam… But for some reason I completely forget this the next seam I come to – I’m obviously a very slow learner!
