This is not a good sign

It’s only 4 days into the term, and already I’m sick of studying. Of course, that could be something to do with the fact that I’ve spent the last 4 hours (ok, 3 – I had a break to watch Dr Who) writing a really tedious essay: 375 words in Spanish (which in terms of time and effort taken is like writing 3750 words in English) on “How the media influences you.” This lecturer is not good at coming up with good essay topics! I ran out of ideas after the first 150 words (which were on how the media is often biased so you have to try and get your news from different sources to counteract the bias), until MrPloppy suggested I write a bit about how the media has changed in the last decade with the spread of satellite TV and the internet. Somehow I managed to stretch that out to another couple of hundred words and made it over the word limit – just.

Oh well, at least I got it finished. And now I’m off to bed with a good book: Tulip Fever by Deborah Moggach

  1. It’s not just you. I’m having a hard time getting excited about studying myself. Never before have I actually looked for housework to do in order to get out of studying.

I’m going with sun spots as being the cause.
