I'b god a cold

I was fine this morning, by lunch-time I had a sniffle and a sore throat, and now I’m feeling seriously rotten. Didn’t stop me going to the meetup tonight though 😉

I’m glad I did go, because it was the best turn-out we’ve ever had – THIRTEEN bookcrossers!!! There was me, lytteltonwitch, awhina, meerkitten, chchdangermouse, Cathietay, daveytay, BizzieLizzie and her son, non-fiction, alithia, JONES2, and a guy from the West Coast whose bookcrossing name I didn’t catch.

As always seems to happen, I managed to bring home more books than I released, but I had a good excuse: at the end of the meetup I gathered up all the unclaimed books to go in the pile to be released at the convention. They were mostly children’s books that meerkitten had brought along:

I picked up a few books for myself as well: The Case of the Cottingley Fairies by Joe Cooper, Twelve by Nick McDonell, The Word and the Void by Terry Brooks, and a cross-stitch book that lytteltonwitch had brought along for me. And I released The Best Book of Urban Myths Ever by Yorick Brown and Mike Flynn, Swimming Pool Sunday by Madeleine Wickham, Outside, Looking In by Kathleen Rowntree, and The Cat Who Could Read Backwards and The Cat Who Played Brahms by Lilian Jackson Braun. The infamous Cheat Book did the rounds of the table too, so hopefully it will get a few more journal entries before the convention.

And now, I’m off to bed with Matthew Flinders’ Cat, in the hope of shaking off this cold…

  1. Ah, yes. I too have that horrid bug that EVERYONE seems to have. I just knew I was going to get it, I just knew. I’m glad you didnt let it hold you back, that’ll show it! Hope you feel better soon. As for me, I’ll be swalling lots of crushed up garlic and Nyquil.
