Lots and lots of pretty sparkles

Awaywithfairies asked about the cat/Christmas tree combination – amazingly, given her ability to cause havoc everywhere else, Parsnips has never shown any interest in the tree.  She sniffs at it a bit when I first put it up, then completely ignores it.
I took a few photos of the new additions to the tree this year – there were a lot more than I expected.  Quite a few came from Lytteltonwitch, who sent me random parcels from weird and wonderful parts of the world; some of course came from the ornament exchange; and the remainder are a result of me being apparently unable to walk past a display of Christmas decorations…

(Lytteltonwitch told me she couldn’t find a cat in a tutu, so she thought a bear in a tutu would be a reasonable substitute)

(Rarsberry tells me this is an “Elf on the Shelf” – I must have a warped mind, because to me he looks more like he’s squatting over a toilet, or you know that way you hold toddlers in position when they need to pee on the side of the road and they can’t manage to squat properly themselves yet… yeah, like I said, warped mind (but once seen, you can’t unsee))

(With bonus photographer reflection 🙂 )

  1. Pretty, pretty! Thanks for sharing.
I have a couple of elves that look like yours, but mine were my mother’s, and I remember them from my childhood. We just called them elves, not Elf on a Shelf, but that’s a current “thing” for families with children now.
I don’t know why they’re made like that – I always thought it looked a little weird. Their hands aren’t very useful for helping Santa make toys, are they?
