Introducing The Beast

For those of you with super-fancy robotic sewing machines with computer screens and a million functions, my new sewing machine is going to look positively antique. But I’m very excited by it – it’s so much more advanced than my old one, and will let me do so many exciting things.  On the downside, it weighs an absolute tonne.  And its “carry” case (yeah, like anyone’s going to carry it anywhere) is the size of a smallish suitcase.  I reckon I’m going to have to get it set up somewhere and then never ever move it again.
Wanna see it?
Gigantic case:

And inside the case, The Beast:

So many feet! I’m glad it comes with a manual so I can figure out what they’re all used for.

Who needs a computer screen? I’ve got a metal lever for doing all the fancy embroidery things:

This is the bit I’m really excited about – this dial drops down the feeder thingy (technical term), so I’ll be able to do free-motion quilting!

The only thing I’m a bit disappointed about is that it has the wrong sort of foot attachment thing, so I won’t be able to use DancingStar’s walking foot with it. But I’ve still got my old machine which it does fit on, so I’ll just have to switch machines depending on what kind of sewing I’m doing.
I think I need to build a new room on my house…

  1. Well, that’s a very good brand, and it looks like you have lots of attachments and the almighty instruction book! I’ll bet you are going to like that machine once you get the ‘howdy do’s’ out of the way. 🙂

  2. Looks at home already, and giggling over its name – The BEAST!! I hope you and the Beast have many a happy hour together.
