Goodbye Saffy
Just back from the vet’s. Saffy has been weakening for the last couple of weeks, and last night she took a turn for the worse, so we had her put to sleep this morning.
Goodbye Saffy.
I’ll write more later.

A couple of items of background: 1. In most of my incarnations on the internet, I use this avatar:[album 128913 FutureCat.jpg]I first found it in the avatar collection of a forum I occasionally visit under another guise (so I won’t mention the name of it here), so I’ve got no idea where it came from…
Show weekend in Christchurch so, as has become traditional, lytteltonwitch and I set off on a bookcrossing expedition. We were going a bit further afield than usual this time, though, because lytteltonwitch had managed to “Grab a Seat” some cheap tickets to Auckland. So on Thursday night after grabbing a quick dinner of fish and…

Greetings from Wellington… well, Upper Hutt, actually. I’m staying at Sherlockfan’s place, and being fabulously well looked after by her and MrFan (whose computer I’m using). After a boring day in meetings on Thursday, I met Sherlockfan in town and she whisked me off to Upper Hutt and dinner, after which I almost immediately fell…
Nope, that definitely doesn’t line up. Even though I spent ages checking and double-checking and was sure it lined up properly before I sewed the final seam, I must have moved it slightly while I was sewing it and now it is just off enough to be totally noticeable (to me, anyway), so I’m going…

Next March I’ll be off to Ireland, for a couple of weeks road-tripping with Lytteltonwitch, followed by the 2012 Bookcrossing Convention in Dublin and a visit to Ballycumber, spiritual home of the bookcrossing mascot. And hopefully, to catch up with a few Australian friends along…

so sorry FC. This is the third cat I’ve heard about this week… always so sad to hear of the loss of a beloved companion. Know you have lots of sweet memories.
I’m sorry for your loss. There seems to have been a rash of kitty passings this week.
(((hugs)))
Yet more sad news. You have my heartfelt sympathy.
