Hot again

nother stupidly hot day (although apparently it is a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday at least).  We’ve got all the windows open in the office (air conditioning? what’s that?) to very little effect, but at least we can take comfort from the fact that we’re cooler than the roofers we can see working on…

So tempting

artankiwi has announced a “quilt-along” for a quilt she’s designed, and I’m so tempted to join in.  It’s an amazing design, featuring all sorts of paper-pieced birds, with loads of different options for the final layout.  And I really enjoyed doing the wee challenge with the butterflies, seeing how everyone interpreted the pattern differently. Summer?

irst of December, so theoretically it’s the first day of summer today. So of course it’s cold and wet and miserable.  I don’t know why I’m surprised, really, because Christchurch does this every year – we have a hot November and we all think summer has come early, then it turns cold again in December…

I can has sleep nao?

ast night was fun, but I didn’t get home until 11.30 – which wouldn’t have been a problem except that I had to get up at 6 to catch the complicated series of buses to get me over to New Brighton (getting anywhere by bus on a Sunday morning is not fun – when I…
