Experiments

definite theme is developing with this quilt: find ways to use up all those random experimental blocks that I made to try things out but then didn’t actually know what to do with.  Oh, and break the rules a bit and don’t do things you’re supposed to do with proper quilts.  Which is why I’ve…

A witchy pair

Now that Christmas is out the way, I can finally show you all the work-in-progress photos I took of the secret project I spent the last few days working on – a Christmas/welcome home/house re-warming present for Lytteltonwitch. Planning: Sewing: Quilting: And the finished product: I’m pretty proud of my work 🙂 I stumbled across…

And finished

Binding complete, so I can tick that one off the Secret Santa list.  (Sorry for the rubbish photo – it’s pouring with rain, so the light is terrible, but I wanted to get a photo before I wrapped it up). I’m so pleased with how it turned out!  I’m feeling all inspired to try so…

Work in progress

It’s Secret Santa season, and I’m determined not to resort to junk from the Warehouse to fulfill the under-$10 requirement for any of them.  Which means I’ve got a lot of crafting deadlines in my near future. But I’m making good progress.  I’m almost finished making my gift for the Christchurch Bloggers Secret Santa, and…

The pink butterfly

It took me most of yesterday and long into the night, but I managed to get most of the embroidery done that I wanted to add to the pink butterfly for my second entry to Tartankiwi’s Butterfly Challenge (and, yes, if you’re wondering Tartankiwi, all that pink is a blatant attempt to win your Rascal’s…

Progress on Butterfly #2

Apologies for the awful photo – I finished sewing all the bits together quite late tonight, so I had the choice of either a washed-out photo using a flash, or a yellowish photo using just the light in the room. Neither came out great, but I’ve colour-corrected it as best I can. I’ll try and…
